no one really uses the shower room or the lockers around the time i come into work, so i'd been bringing my bike into the locker room for added security for about 1.5 months maybe 2 now. in the last 6-8 business weeks, i've seen maybe 5 people total so that's less than 1 person a week in there.

anyhow, the grounds supervisor came in, saw my bike and got pissed off, telling me the rules said no bikes are allowed inside the building. i asked for a copy of a list of rules from him and he started yelling at me. i tried to explain to him i didn't trust the bike racks outside because a) they can be picked up and moved around, b) my older cheap mtn bike was stolen from there with bolt cutters about a year ago and c) the way that rack's designed, a u-lock, even a small one, won't fit in there at all. i guess he wouldn't have any of it. if it was damage caused by the bike(??) i would have to say my cleats probably cause more damage than the bike on the tile

oh well...i put a request in for a better bike rack, but i doubt they'll do anything about that. atleast i still have a shower/sauna/jacuzzi and a bike friendly company that allows me to store the bike inside my cubicle/office (it's not exactly a cubicle...and it's not exactly an office) after i take a shower and get dressed. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/images/smilies/cry.gif

I always go to my office, start the computer check Email before I take a shower. This allows me to cool down so I wont be sweating after I have taken the shower. Since you can take your bike into your office, I suggest you do this too. I keep shoes, pants and towel at the office to reduce the load I carry on the bike.

Get a letter from your employer requesting that you be allowed to bring your bike into the locker room. Deliver it to the rent-a-cop's managers. He will leave you alone forever, or at least until he gets fired, which is about every 60 days with most rent-a-cops.

actually, the rent-a-cops haven't hassled me at all. my company rents a space in a science park and it was the science park's grounds supervisor that came. the rent-a-cops have acually be pretty nice and one actually started commuting to work by bike about 2-3 days a week since we started chatting.

i guess i'll bring the bike in first from now on, then shower haha :)

Or, just assume (a) that the "grounds supervisor" won't come into the locker room again when you are there (at least not in the next several weeks) and (b) that he doesn't have the authority to do anything anyway. In other words, how likely is it that he will come in tomorrow or the next day since he hasn't for the last several weeks and how likely is it that he will do anything other than sternly scold you again?
