Foo - Man's impact on global warming started thousands of years ago

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It will end up in P&R. According to some big (headed) politician I thought global warming began with Mr. Bush.

In all likelihood, this earth will be spinning around the sun long after humans have vacated the premisses, just as it was long before humans appeared.
Volcanos have much more to do with climate than the various human related gaseous emmissions. The air is about as clean as it's ever been since the industrial revolution; it's WAAAYYYY cleaner thanit was in the 60's. The early environmental movement of the 60's which led the the clean air & clean water acts, and Nixon's creation (yeah, imagine that, Nixon!) of the EPA have effectively brought the Hudson River back to life, banished the day-glo sunsets over the NJ refineries, and have pretty much insured that rivers will no longer catch fire.
Coal fired electic plants and offshore drilling are not the all-evil that the Cap &Tax crew would like us to believe. Technology CAN make these things reasonably safe & secure, and heck - accidents happen!

I guess I also implied up there that jsharr is not human.
Well, if you ask my wife, my farts may also be assisting in the destruction of the earth, so maybe I am in the same boat. :)

Sure the Earth has been going through its natural cycles of hot to cold and sure humanity has influenced things along the way just as we are now.
The thing is this. There are 6 billion humans on the planet now and they need to be fed. What are we doing right NOW to make sure we are going to be able to feed all these people if the climate for crops is any different than it is now?
Do we know where we are going? Are we ready for it? Are we going to fight wars over food and water?
Sorry for being serious as I know this will get it sent to P&R.
Does a cute picture help,

I think that the Heat Death of the Universe is a little more pressing of a problem than Global Warming. I mean, which is bigger, Earth or the Universe?
