2004 Chilhowee Challenge and Festival

When: October 22nd - 24th
Where: Cherokee National Forest - Chilhowee Mountain
What: Fat Tire Festival and Time Trial Challenge
Who: Everyone!
Why: Fundraiser for the Chattanooga Chapter of SORBA and FUN!
Cost:
$50/Adult Up to $15 in Discounts!! ($35/adult for SORBA members who Early register),
$15 for Children under 12.
Discounts:
$10 off for Early Registration (Payment received by Oct 20th),
$5 off for SORBA members.
T-Shirts: Shirts are included to everyone who Pre-registers before October 10th, 11:59 pm.

The 2004 Chilhowee Challenge and Festival is being brought to you by SORBA
Chattanooga and sponsors. This is a fundraising event for the newly formed
Chattanooga Chapter of SORBA. These funds will help support trail development
and maintenance in the Chattanooga area. The Festival will begin on Friday
with registration and night rides and the party goes into Saturday with
guided rides, obstacle courses, and games. We will have a raffle for prizes
as well and prizes for the winners of the games. Sunday will also kick
off the Chilhowee Challenge Time Trial races.

We are looking for volunteers to lead rides during the Festival on Saturday.

Pre-Registration will remain open until October 20, 11:59 pm.
Entry Fees will increase by $10 after October 20, 2004.

The Chilhowee Challenge Time Trial
A 5 mile course where each participant can ride up to 3 individual laps and the best lap time will be counted. Prize will be paid out for the top 3 places in all categories.

Racing Entry Fees:
SORBA Members - $15,
Non Members - $25 with FREE SORBA membership included.

Categories: Each Catergory will have a mens and womens
division (except Clydesdale)
Beginner (Ages 17 and under, 18-39 and 40+),
Sport (Ages 17 and under, 18-39 and 40+),
Expert (Ages 17 and under, 18-39 and 40+),
First Timers (All Ages),
Clydesdale (All Ages)

Just an update. . . It looks like our registratoin bag alone will have almost $100 in sponsor donations. This doesn't include all the raffle and race and game prizes that we have to give away! Space is limited to 200 people and spots are starting to fill up fast now.

Just as a reminder to everyone, tomorrow is the last day to pre-register for the event. You can pre-register by going to http://www.sorbachattanooga.com/events/seventreg.php. Pre-registering entitles you to up to $15 in discounts.



Even if you don’t have all weekend to make it out to the festival Saturday is the day to attend. Saturday will have guided rides, games, 2 meals included as well as a prize raffle and social atmosphere. You can pre-register and come up Saturday only and still get the discounts but can also come up and register the day of the event.



Sunday is the day to attend if you would like to try your hand at racing. This is a time trial format so each person starts by themselves and races against the clock. There will be prizes for the fastest times in each category and bragging rights till next year. This should be a lot of fun so plan to come and race or just watch!



We would still like to get a couple more ride leaders. If you are interested in leading a ride email rideleaders@sorbachattanooga.org and let Bret Alexander know you are interested. We have over 20 rides planned for Saturday so we can use plenty of volunteers. We will have some appreciation gifts just for ride leaders and other volunteers.
