Introductions - Hi, I'm new to bike forums

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi, my name is John and I'm 48 years old 6'1" and 189lbs. I've road bikes most of my life, but nothing serious. I've recently started riding for heart health most every morning before going to work in place of my morning walk. Anyway I have an old GT Pantera 18.5inch frame mtn bike which is a hard tail, and too small for me I've been told. I'm now riding back country gravel roads with lots of wash board that makes for a rough ride. I don't have loads of money and want to research what would be the best bike for me and my style/type of riding. I ran across a Trek Liquid 25 on CL and wondering what would be a better option? I've seen reviews where they seem to have a problem with the frame cracking. Thanks in advance for any and all help: John

Have you considered riding your bike to work in place of the morning ride? Great way to get in your daily ride.

Thanks for the welcome. As for riding to work, I need the company truck for the job.
