Introductions - Oh god, not another newbie?!? (from Seattle)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi everyone! I'm very new to cycling, but am trying to dive in head first. I bought a bike a couple of months back and am finally getting some time to ride. I want to get into better shape and be able to take longer and longer rides!:D

Welcome cretingirl to Bike Forums.
Bike riding is a great way to get in shape.
Keep the wheels turning and ask questions when you have problem.

Welcome to Bike Forums and the world of cycling!
I would suggest you start slowly and don't over do it right away. Give yourself some time to condition.
Have fun!

Thanks for the welcome 10 Wheel and Sui Blue Wind! I'm taking it slow and trying to learn as much from the forums as possible. I just have a hybrid comfort bike now, but I am already excited about upgrading to a real road bike in a year or two :D

Oh that's great!! Be sure to post a picture of your bike in the Hybrid forum! Introduce yourself in there, that would be awesome!

Our rule and custom says you need to share pics of the bike. When you get the road bike, you'll have to share pictures of it, too. You don't have to ride in the big chain ring, but when you take the pics, leave it here to make it look like you're really fast. :D
Where have you been riding?
Make sure to drop by the Pacific Northwest forum (http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=237) from time to time, and tell us about cool stuff you find out on the roads and the trails.
welcome Cretingirl. I started out on a hybrid and it worked out pretty well for me. Just keep riding and you will see steady improvement. 2dog.

Oh photos! Do I post them in this thread? I'll actually have to take a photo, the only ones I have are really far away ones of me riding (in a parking lot! haha!).
Seattle Forrest, so far I've only ridden out at my old work campus in Everett (Fluke) and one trip on the Samammish River trail from Bothell to Woodinville. I'm supposed to go on another ride on that trail this weekend ending up at Chateau St. Michelle. Hope I don't have a heart attack!
Thanks also for the encouragement 2dog, we all have to start somewhere right? ;)
Glad to know there is a hybrid forum and PNW forum! Now I know what I'll do in the evenings after I finish my homework!
