Today I finally fulfilled my promise to ride a mile for every dollar contributed on my behalf to the Relay For Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. I originally set my goal in February at $1000 and 1000 miles with the plan to ride the 1000 miles by the end of April when the local relay event was held. I did ride 1000 miles plus before the event, but because of my generous supporters, the donations soared to $2081.
So I kept logging miles and today I finally hit 2082 miles since February. The riding itself was a pleasure and I am happy I was able to help raise the money for a good cause. But I am so glad that I can now stop counting my miles as that just goes against my grain. But I'm sure I'll do it again next year. The cause is worth the sacrifice.
A big thanks to those of you who donated to the cause.
