Foo - Foo?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

There are few, if any, problems that cannot be overcome by adding more butter.

This seems to be the answer if I could only speak and understand nerd.
Foo is the singular form of Foobar
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foobar
"The terms foobar, foo, bar, and baz are common placeholder names (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Placeholder_name) (also referred to as metasyntactic variables (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metasyntactic_variable)) used in computer programming (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_programming) or computer-related documentation.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foobar#cite_note-rfc3092-0) They are commonly used to name variables or functions whose purpose is unimportant and serve only to demonstrate a concept. The terms can be used to represent any part of a complicated system or idea, including the data (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data), variables (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variable_%28programming%29), functions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Function_%28computer_science%29), and commands (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Command_%28computing%29). The words themselves have no meaning in this usage, and are merely logical representations, much like the letters x and y are used in algebra (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algebra). Foobar is often used alone; foo, bar, and baz are usually used in that order, when multiple entities are needed."

In reality, this is a forum based on lazy people with eating disorders. It was too much trouble to spell the full word, so food became foo.

whose purpose is unimportant? UNIMPORTANT?
In the early days of BF, if you posted in here, a foo bird would fly over and defecate on you as you posted. If you wiped the offending matter off (personally I did not find it offensive, but that is just me), you would soon die a horrible death, or at least get a wicked paper cut or something. Anyway, if you left it on, you would enjoy peace and prosperity and increased sexual attractiveness that was usually but not always limited to the opposite gender of the same species.
Long story short, we had to post a warning not to wipe off the foo bird crap, or in other words, "If the Foo ****s, wear it."
Over time the warning just got shortened to Foo.

See what you started? Don't you read stickies? FOO is a metasyntactic variable. Everyone knows that.

Foobar is spelled, FUBAR.
and it's an acronym not a 'metasyntactic variable'

I believe that the Foo Bird was created when one of the last free range Dodo birds ate an LBD off the Hindenburg as it approached the mooring tower in NJ.

And for good reason, since it's an acronym for "F'd Up Beyond All Repair" (or "Recognition").

It is always night somewhere Modo, and your home is where your heart is. Considering the darkness of your heart, you are in a state of perpetual night.
