Hey everyone,

Just brought a swift a few days ago and although I love the bike it makes a weird squeaking sound on the front wheel after each revolution. Called the place I brought it and they mentioned it might be the brakes, went to a local guy and he said they were find, it had proper toe and everything. I even put W-40 where it rotates and still occurs. Anyone know what it might be and what should I do?

Thanks,

If you're talking about a squeaking that occurs when you brake, then it's the brake shoes and will improve on it's own, or you could fool with the toe in more.

If it's a once per revolution squeak when not braking, and you've checked that the rim doesn't touch a brake shoe at some point as it spins, then it's probably a seal touching on the axle. The remedy for that depends on the type of seal.

Given that the bike is new, I'd go back to the dealer and let them deal with it. Either fix it, or explain to your satisfaction that it's normal or that it will resolve itself over time.
