Hey everyone,

My head tube on my bianchi hybrid recently cracked which is a shame because i just bought a new crankset and wheelset, the wheels are Sun cr-18's. Anyway, I was just wondering if I could put my new wheels onto a road bike, theyre both 700c, without changing the tires.

Depends on how much tire clearance the road frame and brakes have(I'm assuming the road bike has caliper brakes). If you're running 38's,prolly not,if you're running 28's,shouldn't be an issue. Also note you may need to swap cassettes;most hybrids have wide-ratio MTB cassettes,and alot of road bikes have short cage derailleurs.

Most hybrids have 135mm rear hubs, whereas most road bikes have 130mm rear spacing. If the road frame is aluminum or carbon, and your rear hub is 135mm, you won't be able to use that rear wheel...regardless of tire size.

Right about the derailleur and the hub spacing, but neither one is sure to screw you up. You might be able to swap the rear derailleur, and if your frame is steel (but NOT aluminum or carbon), it's possible to "cold set" it to accept the other hub. Cold set is mechanic talk for "bend," and you can find out how to do it online. Or you can just jam the thing in there. I've done that with two bikes with no problems...but I'm not issuing guarantees today.
