how's it going. my wife and i have been thinking about getting some bikes for both working out and leisure, and i came upon bikeforums.net after doing some research on what prospective type of bike i may want to purchase (currently thinking about a hybrid like the trek 7.3 fx, or anything similar to that level/pricing). figured i'd join to read up on more information.

i was never an avid biker, but i did enjoy the bikes i had growing up. i had a crummy huffy as kid, then moved on to a 6-speed panasonic road bike in high school that took me around town. last time i biked was in college when i borrowed a friends fuji for a ride.

i'm going to try and hit the local bike shop this weekend to pick their brain and maybe to some test riding.

Welcome to Bike Forums!

Trek hybrids are nice bikes. I have one with a rack and panniers that I ride to work and also to run errands and shop. I've also taken it on some 60+ mile rides.

Definitely try out a few different brands and see what works best for you. And don't forget to post a photo of your new bike when you get it.
