How come Navarro gets so few mentions compared to other top domestiques? I have been really impressed by his support of Contador on the tough mountain stages. Even my husband, who is a more casual cycling fan, has noticed and commented on the great work Navarro has done in this TdF.

American media does an atrocious job in cycling reporting. The entire Astana Team has been portrayed in the US for the past few months as being weak, having novice riders, etc. Radio Schack in the other hand, has been portrayed as been so brutally strong that they were going to steam roll right over everyone. Not the case really as we all have seen. Navarro has been extremely essential and strong. That guy is a beast of a climber. He certainly seems to have a bright future, and I would venture to guess that he will have more of a key roll in other races where Contador is not the team captain.

+1. This kind of thing has always been the achilles heel of the American media. Witness past Olympics and the recent Soccer World Cup in S. Africa.

Yeah, Navarro absolutely killed it up some of the climbs.

Navarro has probably been training all year with Alberto. When you train with the best climbers in the world and you already have the climbing potential you can do pretty amazing things.
