Anyone 50+ from northeast IL or northwest IN plan to riding the Two Rivers Century from Kankakee, IL on August 8, 2010?
Event is described on this page: http://www.kvpd.com/Special-Events/special-events.htm Route map is here: http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/il/kankakee/897127032891450738 (remarkable for it's 436 feet of climbing; midwestern flatlandia).
Looking forward to my first century; I'm pedaling like crazy (a.k.a. training) and praying for low humidity.

Looks like it's a metric century. Not in my area unfortunately.... but knowing that part of Illinois, I would pray for overcast sky too. Good luck!

BillyDonn,
At the SAG stop at mile 48 1/2, you loop back to the northeast and do that ~40 miles again before the home stretch leg to the south. Looks to me like the organizers found a way to make very efficient use of volunteers: only two physical locations for 7 SAG stops.

Prayers for overcast skies were answered. Skies were clear when I left home at 6 - a full overcast had developed when we started riding at 7:30 and held all day. Temps rose from 70 to 80 as the day progressed, and afternoon southwest winds brought a fresh load of humidity from the gulf.
I finished with 85 miles on the trip odometer. A cooler fall ride with the dewpoint below 60 will make a full century a reality this year. With so many to choose from, which one to pick??
