Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Not sure what the big deal is with this new water bottle that unscrews at both ends. They're talking about issues with mold, but I've never seen that on mine. After the ride, I wash out the bottles, and hang them upside down on a wood rack, and they're as good as new. My frustration is dealing with keeping the nipples (especially with the Camelback) clean. If anyone has suggestions for those, I'd love to hear it?
I have Camelbak Podium Chill Jacket bottles. When I clean them I run hot water and soap over the inside and outside of the top and bite valve. Then fill a bottle with hot water and soap and put the top on the bottle and squeeze the hot water through the opening. Then rinse and dry. No mold or bad taste.

I think it's a 50/50 split between folks who clean thier bottles after use, and those who just leave them on the bike until they use thhe bike again. The new bottle MUST be for the latter!
RE Camelback: every now and again, put 1 TSP bleach in a full water pak, shake it up & let it sit for an hour, then rinse it out until it no longer smells like bleach. That cleans & disinfects the whole system.
