Ok guys, sorry for the insanity of these "psychological" rain questions!!

Do you guys actually go out regularly when it is spilling rain for a fitness/pleasure cycle? It rains here constantly but I can't get my head around disregarding the weather and just doing it.

Presuming people answer yes to the above can anybody recommend what exactly to wear? Is it best to buy the right gear straight off. The temperatures here aren't that bad, never really 0 or bellow but it can be very wet and very windy. Safety with visability and that is also an issue. In the past I haven't bothered with a helmet even on my little local "tours".

Also, what sort of footwear is best?

Thanks in advance

I love my Burley rain jacket...and I use neoprene shoe covers...and have two pair of shoes to be able to dry one pair out when it's wet, wet, wet.

When it's really bad, I have Burley pants, but rarely wear them.

Remember, Ireland is green due to the weather (not to mention the Gulf stream) so don't fight it!

Take care,
Tom

P.S. A yellow jacket does wonders for visibility as well!

Same weather here. Wet and between 0 and 15c degrees. Good old Tacoma
