Introductions - Greetings from Vermont

I'm a daily commuter. Rain or shine, hot or cold. Mid-80's (French-made) Peugeot Avoriaz with panniers and a trunk bag, plus a basic run-of-the-mill "bike computer", bell, mirror, and blinkie lights front and rear. Need a proper headlight for when it gets darker. Thinking about a Digital Emitter.

I've got a relatively simple 6.5-mile commute on a paved rail trail next to Lake Champlain. Could be worse! ;)

Welcome. I rode that trail (I think - in Burlington?) when I was up there for a meeting at GD it's a nice ride. Do you ride in the snow?

Yes, the trail goes through Burlington.

I don't ride in snow. Or at least I haven't thought about it yet. This is my first year commuting by bike thanks to a new bridge they built that connects trails together over a river. There's no good (direct) bike-friendly route by road, and the trail isn't plowed, so once the snow starts flying, I'm afraid I'll have to get to work by Subaru WRX again. (Though I'm exploring other options... 45-minute snowshoe to bus, perhaps?)

Hi there vtjim! I too am a Vermont commuter! Good luck on the bike path this winte, I wish it were part of my commute. I come into Burlington from Richmond on most days, and have to take Rt. 2 for about half, and then it is small side roads for most of the other half.
