Professional Cycling For the Fans - French competitive this year

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
With French riders winning several stages in this years TDF can we assume that the peloton is cleaner than it has been in the past. Also, several riders in the RS squad seemed much more tired than in the past. Can we assume that Lance and team were afraid of higher scrutiny and rode cleaner this year.

Maybe I'm missing a connection here because I'm tired after working this weekend. But what do French riders winning several TDF stages have to do with the Radio Shack riders seeming more tired than in the past? The two subjects seem to be mutually exclusive.

It all has to do with doping. If you don't see the possible connection perhaps you may wish to study more about PED in pro cycling.

Maybe it was the fact that the best RS riders are all over 35? And that there is a lot of up and coming french talent.

I think that Hinault's actions in '86 put a curse on the French in the TDF, and the curse kept building. Armstrongs similar actions regarding AC lifted the curse and now French cycling will make a comeback.
