while looking for info to ID spokes on an old French wheel, I came across this list in the CR archives:

Spoke Head Markings
Mark Brand Country Comment
DT DT Swiss Switzerland
U Union Germany
R (Reversed) Redaelli Italy
A Alpina Italy
Y Prym Germany
E Trois Etoiles France Robergel
Crescent Robergel France
Clover Berg-Union Switzerland
Star Stella Italy
W Wolber?
W Wheelsmith USA Since 1984 probably made by Asahi
P Performance probably made by Asahi
Three stars Trois Etoiles France Robergel
Three dots
Cross (+) Torrington USA (Connecticut)
A Asahi Japan
H Hoshi Japan
SAP Sapim Belgium stamped on the elbow
T (in shield) Torrington USA

I think John Hurley (who complied it) would not mind it being shared with our crowd :thumb:

6 "S: around the edge. 1.8mm Trois Etoiles France Robergel. Not all the S visible because they are cut by the slot.

That is the nipples, not the spokes. But useful to know if you have a box of random nipples and off course the French nipples have a different
threading.

One of these days I will do a set of pictures of nipples to match this page:

Add spoke threading to the list of possible concerns. Some older French spokes won't work with standard nipples.

Can't see those too clearly Colonel but, nope. Stella spokes have a raised five pointed star with a raised ouline. Those look like something else. If you check Hurley's spoke data base he's got a lot of "unknown"s shown too. Yours appear to be the same as the fifth "unknown" down on the list.
