Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

2 broken spokes today in the back and strange noises in the front and I'm thinking of replacing my 1989 original Alesa wheels for new.Anyone know what is compatible, cheap and of the same quality? Thanks in advance.
Cheapest option is to find some donor wheels used off C/L. But strange noises can usually be fixed, when is the last time bearings and grease were replaced and cones adjusted?
If you are handy, Sheldon Brown has an excellent tutorial on wheel building. I would consider buying new spokes and rebuilding that rear wheel. Rims should be "Weinmann" by the way with Exage hubs.
Niagara sells some decent wheels, with stainless spokes, for $27 each. Be careful with shipping costs.
