Classic & Vintage - Wizard School - Show off your early Merlins

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello,

I keep seeing all of these threads pop up with "show off your" dutch this, japanese that, etc. etc. So I thought I would start a thread for a material and brand that it is still five year from being Vintage but that is certainly a Classic by now ;). So if you've got it, flaunt it. Let me see your Merlins!

I think mine is suffering from over exposure, but I'll post again when I get home.

I'm afraid to post my Ti Steve Potts roadie on C&V...I don't think she's classic or vintage yet but I have no doubt some day will achieve classic status.

Let's get this thread rolling, I love these "wizards" and look forward to seeing more pictures!!

Forget these ti Merlins. There must be some Wizards out there. I think there are fewer Wizards than Confentes even, but they are out there.

BTW, it's a bird, a type of falcon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merlin_%28bird%29

Yes I know it's a bird, I was just going for a silly play on words, but I really do like that bird you have there. Full 531?

Yes full 531, built by Bob Jackson in Leeds maybe early-mid '70s...why there was no lawyer battle with the modern Merlin USA, I don't know (maybe his copyright expired or was never extended to the US).
I didn't know about the bird until I owned this frame, the Wizard gets much more press.
and (one more time) it's for sale and has different components than this older pic shows.
