Celtics v Lakers v1.0
Dallas v Pittsburg 1970's
Lemond v Hinault

and now we have

I agree, it's shaping up to be a good one. Though you left out some of the biggest rivalries in sports:

Manchester United v Liverpool
Real Madrid v Barcelona
Inter Milan v Juventus
