Professional Cycling For the Fans - A possible benefit of the Radio Shack alternate kit fiasco?
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Is there any chance we'll see names on the back of cycling jerseys in the pro peloton? Personally, I like the idea of being able identify riders on site without having to figure out by number who someone is. Yes, it takes up a little bit of sponsorship available space, but these dudes have sponsors on their butts, so a little space for names wont hurt.

Team Sky has names but on the side, not the back. It's a good idea.
Totally agree..and I've wondered for twenty-five years why it was never done. It would make watching crits a WHOLE lot easier.

I dont know how much easier it would make watching crits, except maybe on TV. 30 MPH going by in a bunch probably wont help a ton. But itd be great for foggy mountain stages of le tour, or any time the peloton gets split.
Doesn't Rabobank put the name on the side?
I did notice at this year's TdF that the riders name was at the top of his pin on number. It's hard to see unless the camera was right on him, though. And if it wasn't all scrunched at the top. Was this year's Tour the first time they've done that?

I like this idea as well.
The Vs announcers talked about the Rabobank guys one day and threw out the idea that other teams should put the riders name and country flag on jerseys.

I also like the idea of country flag and last name on the jerseys
