Commuting - Commuting Woes

haven't been able to commute for amost a week. Got in a mt bike crash on Friday and hit my shin really bad on the mountain. I think my shin got infected. Hopefully, I don't need to see the doctor for this, but a bad infection can take away from the commuting. It hurts my leg for every bump I go over that I can feel through the frame.

I am just jonesing to ride a bike but my leg won't let me. Any suggestions on what to do in the meantime.

I have an appt on Thurs. If I can't get it cleared up by then, I will be in the docs. I'm using bacitracin, not neosporin. I have heard bad things about neosporin. Any other OTC that would be good for getting rid of infections?

I was riding up at Snowbasin. on an upper trail and I couldn't get out of the clipless petals. I don't think I will use clipless on the mountains again, until I get more experience. They work great on the rooad, but it takes too long to get in and out of them on the mountains.

Clean water. And keep the wound covered so it doesn't completely dry out. Moist = healing.

If you have just a small (or almost-healed) cut that's mostly on the surface, then both of those ointments will help (equally). But if it's really deep and filled with puss, neither of those would really help at all. They might even do harm by prematurely closing the "hole" at the top without letting the insides heal properly.
