I've tried on all the helmets I can locally. Have no idea what my head size is as I don't wear hats - well because hats don't fit. Occasionally, I can get a ball hat to fit tight on the last snap. So hopefully that tells you where I'm at.


Would love to grab me a helmet.

Above was recommended to me - but you can't seem to get them any more.

Bell use to make a big helmet - but they are OOS now when I look. . .

Thoughts?

I'd like to stick with amazon since I have to buy sight unseen and don't want a room full of helmets that don't fit. . .(amazon will let me return)

I'm in the exact same situation as you. Big head, hats don't fit.

Giro Venti fits perfectly. It's my salvation.

I've got a moderately big head and I'm in a Large size Giro helmet with room to spare. Giro Atmos is a bit pricey though, but presume that their sizing is standard across the range.

My head doesn't sound quite as big as yours though. 'One size fits all' cap are a struggle, but I'll get an adjustable cap on in the last 1/3 of the adjustment.

Can't wear flexfit hats... I wear a 7 3/8" - 7 1/2" fitted. The Gyro Venti seemed to fit perfectly. I'm going to my LBS tomorrow to buy it.

Have you measured your melon? Most helmet manufacturers will have measurements for their helmets. Check that first. I have a big head, too and I have no problems with helmets from Specialized and Giro.

I wear between a size 8 & 8.25 hat (~27") depending on fabric type. I am able to squeeze into the larger options listed on the linked website.
