I found this board via a New Beetle (http://forums.newbeetle.org/) website. I'm a member of 5+ car message boards, and a couple of others, and never thought about joining one for bicycles.

Anyway, I used to ride fairly often, but haven't ridden with any regularity in years. Now that I no longer have a car, I'm planning on riding more, especially since I just moved into Downtown Dallas (http://www.monogodo.org/pages/wilson.htm).

I hope everyone here is as friendly as the people on the Beetle boards, and more friendly than the members of some of the other boards I frequent.

I look forward to "meeting" y'all.

I hope you like Dallas. I just moved from there not too long ago. I lived there for 8 years. Just be careful riding your bike in downtown, because there aren't many bike lanes around that area. I love Dallas, but the drivers aren't the most bike friendly. There are some lovely places to ride out at the lakes, and a few areas that have designated bike lanes. Have a wonderful time in Dallas and enjoy the weather. You guys still have a little summer left... I'm jealous

I've lived in Dallas since the Spring of 1989, so I'm well aware of the animosity that exists between bicyclists and cars here. As soon as the temperature begins to drop, I'm hoping to ride again.
