Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I never knew anything about flashlights, "Dinottees" or "O-rings" before I started reading the gadget forums here. But as a good little grasshopper - I learned quickly.

The pics below are my "city bike" lighting setup that works well for average rides.

Straight-on shot showing big Dinottee 4-cell Li Ion battery - mounted on "space bar"

Here's another shot demonstrating old inner tube straps holding a Fenix LD20 as "O rings."

And one more pic showing strapping as well, one holds it tight, one is a "backup" safety catch.

That looks like a good setup, do you have anything in the back? And do you run the two lights at the same time?

How do you like the LD20 in this application? I've carried mine in security work long enough that the holster is pretty much dead, and I was thinking about either replacing it with a different light and putting it on the bike, or buying a similar sized Fenix for the bike and using the new one's holster. The head-twist mode switching strikes me as a potential annoyance, but I guess if you're not using Turbo mode at all it would work fine.

Yes, most of the time the Fenix is on is "turbo mode" but with the head twisted to the 9 lumen low light setting. Mean while the Dinottee provides light for anything else. The Fenix gets twisted up to turbo mode and aimed at oncoming traffic to shut down high beams or to spot up road during high speed riding.

And I bought a Quark AA2 and tried it as well. The "head twist" contacts of the Fenix seem a higher quality than the Quark. And since I am not using the Fenix as a solo light, the "turbo" to low mode works for me.

However, if you are only using one flashlight for light, then I recommend the Quark.
