Hey all! I bought this bike from ebay, and mostly because I wanted a beater cross bike for my first season and it's purple, I went ahead with this one.

I thought at first it was a real Zunow, but now I seriously doubt it. BUT. It has very nice stuff on it period wise; ultegra rear derailleur and hubs, Deore XT brakes and crank and FD, high end bars/stem, even the wheelset is "Zunow" in that they did come stocked with Araya rims.

So what do I have? Why would someone bother to put Zunow decals on a non Zunow frame, but then put nice stuff on the bike? How did they even GET Zunow decals?

Thanks in advance!

I saw that with about 10 hours left and was going to email the auction listing to a friend that had a Zunow cross bike in the 90's that he couriered on and rode until it was dust and broken dreams. He has been looking for one ever since and has not been able to find one but I believe that his was lugged steel and this looks like it is Aluminum.

The decals look correct, is there a serial # or anything?

No serial number yet, but I haven't received it yet either. When I get it I'll post it. That's the thing, it's welded aluminum, not lugged steel.

Hi...

I sold a zunow... a few months ago through the forum and at first there was some speculation that is was a fake... however mine... had hummingbird stamped seat stays and a chrome under the paint... which made it a for real zunow. I can't shed any light on the cross frame... but I know you can get just about any decal made and some are even stocked by a few companies. Zunow are hard to find info on... I tried contacting zunow in Japan but never got a response.

What did the seller say about the bike?

cheers

Ian

It looked like a welded steel Columbus Max tubeset bike ... before I scrolled down and you said it is aluminum.
