Classic & Vintage - I love this stem...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

One false move, and it could go right into your thigh!

one thing: you're not going to nod off behind the handlebars with that pointing at you...it keeps you focused ;)

Yes, that is scary if a student of noglider's can shove a brake lever into her thigh....
Actually that looks like something to pierce the sternum.

Sternum! I was thinking something lower, more centered than the thigh!
No problem, just add on a pair of those thin chromed stem shifters you used to see on old Schwinns and your thighs and face will be safe from ever hitting that pointy looking stem!

I'm going to call the CPSC and get them over here ASAP. They'll protect you all from yourselves.
I keep replaying the scene from "Something about Mary". Fire department, paramedics....stem in the beans and frank.

Compared to a Steel classic Cinelli stem that stem is streamlined.
Remember all the cool stuff that would never get made today:
Mattel Vac-U-Former
Mattell Creepy Crawlers
both burn machines waiting to strike.
And the best, the Mattel X-15 Varoom Cycle rear wheel steering recumbent trike, just too cool until the terminal speed wobble set in downhill. Just to keep it in topic.

I suggest riding with one of these

or one of these

...or both.

Shouldn't the rack for the keg go over the back wheel instead for better stability?? At least I can see the beer-belly accomodation on that frame!:D

It seems like there was another one at one of the NAHBSs to which there was actually a keg of beer attached. ... though I don't think the shifters also dispensed the beer.

I've seen pictures of Xtracycles carrying beer kegs...You could set one up with four mini-kegs and taps on top and take it to bike races! You'd make a killing selling refreshments.
