Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I recently purcesed a bike and can't find any thing about it. The frame is an élan? It has vitus 181 tubes, super vitus frame ends and nice lug work. It was campagnolo equiped. Any info would be greatly apreciated

Need help with info before I restore it.
Just curious, why do you need info about it before working on it? You can figure out threads on your own easily.
It looks worthy of some parts.

Mostly to know what year parts to put on it. I already have decals made and just waiting on the rain to stop here so I can paint it

Not sure it even "needs" repaint. Unless the downtube is in horrendous shape (hard to see from the photos), the rest of the frame looks like a little touch up paint here and there should be sufficient. As they say, it's only original once. Looks like a duct tape residue on the headtube, which should clean up fine with Goo Gone or other degreaser.

There's some surface rust from a bunch of scratches and a dent in the down tube. I won't restore a bike unless it realy needs it.
The frame looks terrific! Clean it up and ride it as is :)
That decal on the seat tube near the bottom bracket looks neat, got a close up of it?
