Ric Clark here. Just joined. I am going to buy a trike and I have got the decision down to 2 or 3 so maybe ya'll could give me some pointers. It is down to ICE, Terra-Trek, and Sidewinder.

Your thoughts?????

I am ordering a TerraTrike and have been contacting the company with various questions for the last 2 weeks. Their customer service, as reported on another Recumbent forum, is first class and so are their products.

I have not actually ridden a Sidewinder, but the rear steering makes it nothing more than a novelty, as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't ride one outside a parking lot.

Rear steering has the potential to make handling dicey. I haven't ridden one, so I don't know. The question to answer is this: does the machine steer the same as other trikes? 1. Does it turn left when you pull back on the left handgrip ?
2. Do you have to pull the left handgrip harder the faster you go ?
3. Is there any situation in which I have to do something different in order to keep from wrecking ?
Obviously, you will have to ride the machine around town for awhile to answer these questions.

I ride and highly recommend ICE. I have about 7,000 happy miles on a Q. I was almost as happy on a TT 3.4, much like the current Cruiser. My wife still rides the TT and is perfectly satisfied with it.

I also recommend nice long test rides before you buy even if you have to travel to accomplish them.
