Classic & Vintage - Anyone Own Everything in one Manufacturer's Lineup?

Since I picked up the International a bit ago I was thinking, I've had a bunch of 70's Raleigh's pass through my hands:

72 Mink Professional
72 International
70 something Competition (just a frame)
Several Complete Grand Prix's - don't remember exact years
Several Super Courses - frames and complete bikes.
Some Record's here and there.

Throw in a few Sports. I'd love a gran sport...

I still have the Competition frame and the International, the rest stuck around for a bit then were flipped.

Anyway, does anyone own, say, all the Raleigh Lightweights ?
How about all the Raleigh lightweights from one decade?

What about all the Motobecane's from a specific year or catalog? All the Trek's from 1982?

Does Kurt have all the lightweights from Raleigh USA?

Who can come closest to a "complete" manufacturer's collection?

I owned a good part of the 86 Schwinn lightwieght, Super Sport, Tempo, Prelude, and Passage.

I've come closest with 70's Raleighs and Peugeots.

Well, I have a Counterpoint Opus II, and Presto; which leaves, I think, the only thing they made that I don't have is the Trio, so as Meat Loaf sang, two out of three ain't bad. To put it in perspective, the Presto is a recumbent; the Opus II is a tandem where the stoker is recumbent, out front; and the Trio, which I don't have, is a triple with a recumbent stoker out front and a second stoker recumbent in 'tailgunner' position in back. Dang cool. My chances of picking one up, I'd say, are practically nil.

If you count flips, I've had at least two of everything except the professional. No real desire for that one - lackluster color scheme and over priced without any chrome to justify the expense.

Currently, I have a Sports, a gran sport, 3 comps, two internationals. That includes bikes I built up for my wife/kids. Previously I had a Clubman, too, and a zillion Sports.

My mechanic has a nice newish cinderblock building he built to run his auto repair business in - but he works outside as it's full with one each of every model Fairlaine Ford put out in 1957, all like new.

I never seem to have more than 3-4 bikes at the same time. I have had a lot of Raleighs pass through my hands. I think that Competition is a 1978 G.S. model.

ive got a PX-10 in steel, alumium, and carbon fiber, does that count?
Also have a 69, 79, 89, 99 peugeot. And at some point I have had all the late 70s Pugs except a UO-19.

You have to hand it to Huffy's marketing department. With exception to the road models (of which all except the Prestige had its name lifted from a well-known, prior Nottingham offering), their name choices - especially for the MTB's - are neither inspiring nor memorable.

Following is a truncated 1983 lineup that I've copied from the presently-available '83 catalog. The lineup was noticeably different for this single year only:

Lightweight Racing:
"753" - '83 catalog states the model was limited to 100 per year; an unlikely bugger to surface, considering it was only made for one year. Shown fitted with Modolo Kronos brakes, SR drivetrain, and Phil hubs (!) - extremely spiffy build from any large manufacturer.
Prestige G.S. (FYI, saw one of these once before. Mint. Being sold by a dubious bike seller at the Ft. Lauderdale Swap Shop. 10 to 1 it was stolen).

God, no, and I've owned a lot of bikes.

I have a McLean, however. It's my pride-and-joy bike. As far as I know, he only had two models, racing and touring, so I have half of his lineup. That's the closest I've come.

I've always wanted to own a Terraferma. You can't own his whole lineup; every single one of his frames is unique. Even those that would otherwise appear similar at first glance are different.

I guess one wouldn't have much trouble getting their hands on the entire Confente lineup either. Own one, you own the one model you could buy. Of course, that model varied considerably...

Most of the larger manufacturers made a full product line, including some mediocre bottom end bike shaped objects. So I'l pass. On Schwinn, I would not mind owning the entire late 1980s Tenax line and above. I have had a Tempo, a couple of Preludes, and two Prologues right now. I am missing several from that subgroup.

I agree, the Super Record is a stand alone model. Yes, it's a Professional but with Campagnolo drop outs ..

So nothing complete there but lots of sampling of what Raleigh had to offer (some very good, some pretty weird).

interesting question. divided between the model years from '86 to '93 I have a top end MTB, a basic cross/touring, upperend Sport, Performance and RC road bikes, upperend Cross, and a Project series 700c MTB. the only thing missing is a Pista from the period.

'87 Grizzly, '86 Volpe, '87 Sport SX (heavily reequipped), '88 Trofeo, '89 Equinox, '90 Proto frameset (2), European market '91ish MAX 'cross frame, '93 project. plus a few others.

Remember how huge the Schwinn lineup was in the early 80's? You'd need a two car garage to hold one of each.

Not including the ladies' frame variants.
