Classic & Vintage - Dorky but stock accoutrements on 1981 Miyata 1000?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I recently purchased a nearly stock '81 Miyata 1000. The only things differentiating it from the 1981 catalog photo are the absence of hoods and the cheesy aftermarket saddle. The bike still has front and rear reflectors, wheel reflectors, a dork disc, foam grips, etc.

If I sell the Miyata, should I strip off the dorky accoutrements and make the bike look beautiful, or keep them on and make the bike look like the catalog photo?

drop the dorkiness.

It's up to you but I would try to make it look beautiful .

Replacing the (probably) dry and crusty foam bar wrap is a must either way. Touch points are extremely important when selling bikes.

Excellent. That was my first instinct. I'll keep all of the take-offs together and include them in the sale.

Thanks for the help.
