Bicycle Mechanics - Need advice on a reliable brand of pump and bike tire gauge

Recently my Bell foot pump broke after 3 years of use. So I purchased a Topeak Mountain Morph Master Blaster. Can not figure out if its pumping any air into my tires because there is no gauge on it. So next I bough a Bell Windstorm floor pump. It works ok but I do not feel that the gauge on it is correct. To check if the air pressure is correct the next thing I want to get is a bike tire gauge and possibly another reliable pump. By the way I have a Shrader valve on my bike. Any suggestions would be most helpful as I am a novice with bikes.

willisgirl, You can pick up a regular tire gauge to check that style valve. Get one that reads to ~ 100 PSI.

Assume you got a mountain morph because you have a mountain bike? Should be able to tell with your fingers if air's being added (although you may have to pump a bunch first). I've got a digital one that goes up past 80 for my van's tires, and one that goes up to 50 for other vehicles, both sourced at local auto parts stores. I use presta on my bikes....

If you plan a long future riding bikes I would buy a good floor pump like the Silca or the full sized Topeak. They will work on both presta and shrader valves.

For Shrader valves, unless you want to spend $100+ for a high quality, highly accurate pressure gauge just get an inexpensive, $10 or less, digital gauge from Target or similar. Most cheap digitals are fairly accurate and are more durable when dropped than the analog/dial types.
