Commuting - Unique, Rare, or Different?

With the availability of 2nd hand and surplus bicycles specially the Japanese commuter bicycles here in Asia, one wonders how many have the same brand, model, and size they got. The search for the same kind of bicycle may be for curiousity on how others look and what hop-ups would be nice for their own bicycle. Wondering who got one may seem time consuming in searching the web. If you have one type of bicycle which seems rare or unique kindly post a picture of yourself together with the bike to show ownership, so that one with the same bike may be aware and compare notes with you.

I got this bicycle from a trader because I find the frame design different from others.

Present Condition : New stainless rims/spokes, tires, alloy pedals, alloy front brakes, brake levers, seat, Dynamo Hub, stainless basket, LED flashing lights, and cable lock. I was having a hard time choosing what color to paint and accidentally notice a plant with its leaves having this color shading, and that's it. I named the bike Grass Chopper to matched its color. Anyone out there with this same bicycle, kindly post its picture here.

BTW, this bicycle won 'Best Bike' in one of the bicycle shows held in SM San Lazaro this year.

This bicycle came from my brother, a bicycle trader and what I noticed was the extra lenght of the frame. The color is stock but I had to replace other parts. New stainless steel spokes, tires, and seat. Added the carrier, stainless basket, Nexus 3-Speed IGH, Front Dynamo Hub, LED lights, Hard Lock, Umbrella Holder, Alloy Pedals, Bottle Holder, and Ringer.

I got this bicycle in 2007 and since then I never saw a dupe or model of this kind. The sticker prior to painting were all worn out. I changed the headpost and handle bar. Tires were replaced with Wanda white sided tires.

Tunique - Found this bicycle in very mint condition. I just replaced the handlebar and added a basket, LED Light, and umbrella holder. Front wheel is size 18 and rear wheel is 20.

I bought this bicycle from a trader who was using it as a service bike. The bike was unusable but what attracted me was the originality of the parts (Stock Condition). I had it for a bargain due to its condition. This is now how it looks after the restoration. So far, I've seen one during a bicycle show, but mine had a complete original parts. I replaced the seat and front basket. The choice of color and design was mine.

It's simply branded The National but it's not the regular National branded bicycle. It's wheel is size 20.

I got this bicycle in it's poorest condition. Had it painted and installed new stainless steel rims, spokes, and brand new tires. Seldom do I see folding bicycles of wheel size 24. Commonly I see Junior MTB folding bikes around, not this chary type of commuter bike.

This is a Pregio/16. My 1st Folding bicycle in 2006. Uniqueness : The black (Titanium) finish of the frame.

Right after I got the folder I had it disassembled and decided on the changes.
The frame I had to send to my friend's shop for the Titanium finishing. The shop is engaged in production of auto Mag Wheels and the Black Chrome did made the frame very unique. Replacement of other parts and addition of accessories.

I have no idea what brand this is. It was repainted by the owner and the stickers were not restored. I probably will give it a name after a new look.
The first time I saw this bicycle was when the owner was having a tire changed by my bike technician. I did made an offer to buy the bike if ever he decides to sell it and after a week my tech called me up telling me that the owner decided to sell the bike. So here it is. Painting to follow cause we had to heat up a portion of the frame to removed the stucked seat post. The frame is so thin in structure, something uncommon to other commuter bicycles. Tires are 26 x 1.00 matching the frame.

Interesting, almost all bikes have fenders. Here, while sitting outside I watched bikes going by and started to count how many had fenders... about 1 in 20 had fenders.

When riding here http://www.hornsbar.com/webcamlarge.htm you need fenders. That isn't rain water!

I got this Sanyo Electric bicycle frame junked in my brother's place and decided to restore it to a regular commuter bicycle. All other parts came from my collection of bicycle parts and was happy to see it restored to a regular commuter bike. The frame just like other electric bikes are extended or longer than ordinary commuter bike of it's size. The wheels are size 24".

My first folding bicycle that is originally chromed. The alloy rims were replaced with stainless steel rims. I got this in 2006 and the finish is still good. Chromed frame are rarely found on Japanese commuter bicycles. Sometimes chromed frame are top-coated with a color. This I found out with 2 of my Bridgestone bicycles. After applying stripsol the frame turned out to be in chrome finish.

What was rare last 4 years suddenly became available today.
This is the size 18 x 1.75 stainless steel rims and tires. I have 3 bicycles and 1 3-wheeler with this size and all the rims were alloy. A trader suddenly had a bulk of Japanese wheels of variable sizes and the good thing was most were with stainless steel rims and tires.
Because the size 18" bicycle was not in demand because of the unavailability of stainless steel rims together with tires lucky for me cause I have this bicycles.
After my Grass Chopper now comes my Da Vinci with new set of wheels.

In my case, I know what parts and accessories are still needed for my collection, so upon availability of the item at a reasonable price that's the time to take the bike out of storage for fixing, cleaning, and taking it for a ride for a few days. For example, I got 4 sets of 18 x 1.75 wheels w/stainless steel rims & tires, all four bicycles with this size are scheduled for changes. First one was the Grass Chopper and yesterday the Da Vinci. The Tunique and my National 3-Wheeler had to wait for new stainless spokes which I ordered. Aside from this I am still sourcing for new white sided tires for this wheel size. Since it's rainy season here I got a standby bike ready for these weather condition.

My Da Vinci finally getting its new stainless steel rims and tires. At this time, what it needs are white sided tires, stainless spokes, and Dynamo Hub.

Another addition to this thread, a 1973 Bridgestone Asmo. Newly painted frame and chroming of carrier and chain cover. Additions/changes are stainless steel rims/spokes, headlight/reflectors, pedals, seat, tires, and grips. All other parts are original.

Mangboy, what size wheels are they? They look like 22" but that's not likely. I've only seen 22" wheels on a Peugeot.

The rims are 22 x 1 3/8 and the tires are 22 x 1 3/4 with tubes 22 x 1.75.
My other Bridgestone Utility bicycke also have this wheel size. I still have to change the front rim which is 28 holes with a 36 holes upon arrival of a Bridgestone dynamo hub.
