Tandem Cycling - Route Advice E. Washington

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Stoker and I are thinking about organizing a trip through Washington wine country, maybe next year. Probably end up being a group of 6-10 riders. Thinking, just for instance, of maybe Winthrop to Walla Walla. Would like plenty of good hard riding (nothing over the top here, say 50-75 mi/day, less than 5000 ft elev. gain/day), but with opportunity to do some wine tasting. Usual effort to avoid crappy roads, busy roads, dirt roads. Maybe 10-15 days duration? Probably with van support to haul suitcases from one lodging to the next. I'm generally familiar with the area, but am hoping to get recommendations for specific routing: roads to use and roads to avoid, places to stay, must-do restaurants, etc. If anybody has done this or something broadly similar, I'd love to get advice, routes/maps, web links, whatever you care to offer.
Thanks in advance.

Have a look at SIR's brevet routes, especially 600k and longer. They are never easy, but they are sweet.

Mountain riding in the Cascades is just marvelous. Don't miss what's called Old Blewitt Pass, FS Rd. 7320, paralleling SR 97 between SR 2 and I-90. Near Naches, Hwys 410, 123, and 12 make a magnificent loop. Locals argue about clockwise vs. counterclockwise.
Thanks Cfb, looks like there will be some useful info there.
