Hi,
I'm not a triathlete, but just a regular rider who wants to put on some dura ace 9 speed bar end shifters on his bike.
Any of you guys have them? How well does the indexed shifting work compared to STI?

I have them on my aero bars. Index shifting works fine. I had them set up at the LBS, so I'm not sure how difficult it was to get them synchronized. I really like them.

I have 105 indexed bar ends that are 10 years old and still work perfectly. There isn't much to go wrong. I recently moved them to my commuter bike where they are still going strong. Shifting should be every bit as good as STI. If you like the ergonomics of bar ends and/or don't want to pay for STI they are a great solution.
