hello i would like to make drop bolts for a bike of mine. I saw sheldons article and doing them on the rear sounds easy but how do you do them on the front? My fork is curved there, and getting metal with the same bend seems hard.

On that note if you have standard nutting do you need the rear part of the drop bolt? or can you just do it with the front part?

Lastly, how long of brake reaach should I aim for to put fenders through them?

measure from the center of the mounting hole to the center of the braking surface on the rim you will be using. that is the 'reach' you will need. if there is room for a fender, so be it.

but what length WILL fit a fender, i will chose brakes that allow a fender to fit.
EDIT:Ill put the above in a different post.

I realized i can use standard curved nuts that my current brakes used since i wont need them on my dropbolt.

Can I use that one piece drop bolt too?
