Hey everyone,

I just started to spin and I am wondering if it is safe to spin every day or every other day? My father, who is an avid biker, does his 40km every single day to work.

Also, I have pretty big legs, not really defined at all, and I got off my first 1-hour session and my legs ached and my butt hurt a lot too, but it was a good pain (if that makes any sense).

Can I expect to see my legs tone and become more defined throughout the weeks of spinning? Also, next summer I plan on acquiring a good road bike in order to get outside.

Thanks for all the help! I look forward to reading your responses!

Does your father go to work 7 days a week. You can do your spinning on successive days but you need to take some recovery time. Look on Craigslist and let your father help you choose a bike now. You dont need to be spinning all the time, but get out on the roads and have fun mixing with the traffic.

You don't have to have a road bike to ride on the road. You could probably pick up an old road bike on Craigslist or Ebay for really cheap.

P.S - Yay, 50th post. Now I only have 19,950 to go!

haha cool thanks

is it normal that my calves have gotten bigger? I've done 2 1-hour rides so far - my dad (huge cyclist) says that it is a the water and blood rushing into the muscle because it is being strained more than usual (never worked my legs besides walking) and he said that in a couple of weeks my legs will start to tone and slim down.. just wanted to see what you guys thought? They got like an inch bigger lol.. and all I see is cyclists with slim and toned legs!!

cheers
