I visited 2 LBSs and they didn't stock em. Cheap would be good too. I improvised by putting electric tape around the spokes, but that is a temporary solution. Thanks.

Electrical tape is what I've been using in all my rims (whether 700c, 27", 451, or 406) for the last 35 years. Two or three layers seem to hold up fine to 125 psi and are still thinner than regular Velox for easier tire changing.
I have been using duct tape, the type with cloth backing. Because I can't be bothered to buy strip. And have rolls of the stuff.
I have been using electric tape also for all of my bikes.

thanks, guys. I'm gonna look for that cloth tape and stock up. Not a bad idea. In the meanwhile, I'll leave that electrical tape on.

Velox is the daddy, and you cut it to length. I have a number of little extra bits, due to my 20" bikes.
Look at the bottom of this page
This plastic tape is a loop so you stretch it a little bit and fit over the rim. I think it is 20mm wide but am not sure.
