Hello,

There is a lbs with a used Schwinn Mesa with disc brakes that I was thinking of getting for my wife. The guy said it's about 3 or 4 years old and they're asking $200 for it. Does anyone know anything about this bike? It lookes like it's been ridden hard but it seems to be in pretty good shape.

i have one, a 2001, no disks but it is a strong frame so far, and ok componets, i think this was before swchinns merge or being bought though

Is it just a plain Mesa or are there numbers behind it. I believe there was a GS a GSX and one other. There are a significant difference in components between them. I have a GSX and like it.

I rode with a guy who had a mesa today..he can thrash that bike like no ones buisness. It is a couple of years old, but i would say it is a very reliable bike (?)

I brought one on Friday and I am glad to see there are people who have a good opinion of it. I haven't had mine on a trail yet, but just bumping around town has been quite fun. I wish I didn't have so much work and school. Today, I only had time for about 1 hour of riding and same thing for tomarrow and the rest of the week.
