Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
 I just ordered some flat handlebars for my mountain bike. I will be racing this season. Does anybody know the advantages and disadvantes to having a flat handlebar compared to a slightly raised bar. I keep having nightmares that I am not going to be able to steer or control my bike as well as I normally do. Can I get some feedback from people who ride with flat handlebars.

I read your cross post in the mtn bike forum.
First I want to say welcome to the forums.
Secondly, I want to say "cross posting" (same post in 2 or more threads) is to be avoided to reduce confusion. Not a biggie, just something we try to reduce (o.k., we delete duplicate threads) [Think, overbearing cop voice]But we'll let you off with a warning. Just don't let me catch you doing it again or it's the slammer for ya.
Thirdly, I noticed your location is Florida. What parts? Quite a few of us from down here. Not too many mountain bikers though. Fewer mountain biking females.
