I'm thinking of going with a cartridge BB on my S-25 winter bike. When I last did maintenance on the BB, I measured the square taper spindle at 125mm (68mm shell width). My problem is that the closest matches I see on replacements are nominal dimensions of either 68 x 122 or 68 x 127. It's a SunTour crankset. Any advice on what to try?

with what you are offering i would go with the 127 mm BB. You are looking at 2 mm increase on the drive side. and most if not all front dérailleur can handle that and you wouldn't notice it when riding.Yes you will have to adjust the front dérailleur for it .
