Just got a kayak trailer from Tony's Trailers (http://www.tonystrailers.com/) and took it to the beach today using the BD. Worked really well. I could hardly notice any difference at all over the usual BD handling. Here is a picture at Kailua Beach (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Kailua,+Honolulu,+Hawaii&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=69.312771,71.279297&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Kailua,+Honolulu,+Hawaii&ll=21.3962,-157.725306&spn=0.010209,0.008701&t=h&z=17). Notice my improvised paddle mount under the kayak. I used some pipe insulation foam and tied it on using toes straps. Worked really well.

Many strange looks from the gas guzzlers?

Awesome! This may be OT but what kind of kayak is that? Trying to get into kayaking and having a hard time deciding between a SOT or sit in type kayak.

Well, in Hawaii the SOT wins since there is little danger of hypothermia, so getting wet is no big deal. My kayak is a Wave Witch and I don't see too many of them around. Mine was made by Bob Twogood but he doesn't make them anymore. I think I have the only kevlar one in existence. My advice is to try different models and see what you like. It is sort of like saddles.

People were very positive. It was actually pretty crowded at the beach and people were waiting in their cars for someone to pull out so they could get a parking spot. Not a problem for me.
That's a cool trailer for your Kayak! My parents house is a 5-minute walk from that park and we used to take a kayak down there just pulling it along with the detachable wheels.

My house is three miles away, so walking with the kayak on wheels is a bit far, but still a short ride on the bicycle.
