Bike shops in New Zealand stock carriers and lights (of course) but not the brackets such as this

or this

My rear light comes off if I go over a bump. I was going to order one from Amazon but with postage it came to about $50 (they use a large bag)!

Update:
Planet Bike in the U.S sent me one free! I explained about the cost for postage etc and they said that as they weren't set up for foriegn purchases they may as well just send me one. Thanks to Planet Bike!
It's on the top peak carrier on my Surly LHT.

Zoowie! Fifty bucks is a lot to pay for a winky, blinkie bracket.

If it was my bike I'd fabricate my own from an aluminum extrusion from Home Depot or maybe even from an old license plate.

Zip-ties?

The main part I need is the rubber fabrication. I have an aluminum bracket that has been bent but it flicks.
I sent an email to planet bike and got an interesting response. Stay posted.

I first thought of zip-ties, but maybe a properly-sized rubber band would work better?

You can do a lot of rubber fabbing with old innertubes.

Zip-ties last longer out in the open air better then rubber bands or cut inner tubes.

Make sure the packaging says 'UV Resistant'.
