I just had one of the greatest first dates ever.
I picked her up and we immediately hit it off conversationally. She's the lead singer in a band, majored in vocal performance, is a runner and cyclist, dancer (swing, rumba, chacha, tango), etc. etc. etc. We get to karaoke (her choice, perfect!) and start the singing. Her voice is sublime. Luckily, I was pretty on with my singing, as well.
Her favorite song that I sang was a mariachi song about heartbreak and pain. It's one of my favorite songs ever. We also did a little duet from Grease (NOT Summer Nights, dear lord...) and both sang some rock, jazz, and whatnot.
It was just a fantastic night with great conversation and someone who could have potential. Whether or not we end up together, I met a great person.
So, tell the Fooniverse about your best dates!

The best dates I had were fresh, still on the branch instead of those crappy dehydrated sugary preserved ones you get in the grocery store. Too bad the Lebanese market where I got them closed last year. :(
I had some pretty good dates:
January 20, 1984 - born
July 3, 1989 - first hot dog
May 5, 2007 - done with school, forever
May 29, 2010 - done with dating, forever (married to my favorite date)

I like that you know when you had your first hot dog. That's awesome.
My best dates have always involved duct tape residue and a chloroform hangover as clearly as I can remember.

A road trip to Indio, CA is in order.

Did somebody say Candy Mountain?
Seriously though,
I would say that my favorite date was lunch at a MiddleEastern restaurant 15 years ago. It was a first date (I thought it was a date, my wife states we were just going to lunch) that lasted 4 hours. We were married 22 months later.

I had a pretty good one this week. First date just meeting for drinks and ended up with really good conversation for about 3 hours until the place kicked us out. Second date coming soon.

My first date with my wife was like a dream. She wore a top that showed more cleavage than I ever collectively saw and a skirt so short with a slit up one side I thought I had died and gone to heaven (You know them Spanish women, always showing the goods). Anyway, her kisses were like a fine wine running over my lips. We had two dates that day, one for lunch and the other after lunch walking along the beach drinking those frozen rum runners.
She would not let me hold her hand until the "second" date later that afternoon. I married her 5 months later and I still feel like I am on that first date.

Oh, and if anyone is wondering what happened to my last girlfriend...unlike some Foosters, I don't post my breakup drama... ;)

I know that I don't seem to be the type but I picked her up at an airport, took her home, and we slept together that first night despite having just "met".
Mind you... this meeting was 18 months in the making and when I saw her walking through the arrivals gate I could not believe that she could be any more beautiful than I had imagined and had to admit I have a poor imagination.
I remember looking into those beautiful brown eyes, kissing those sweet lips for the first time, and then holding her for what seemed like forever... and I had to tell her that I was so happy she was not a guy named Bob... although I would have to double check this later on.
So we drove home from the airport holding hands all the way (it's a long drive) and talking as we had been for a year and half... and when we got home I helped her unpack by distracting her with more hugs and kisses.
And then we got to say goodnight except that instead of saying this over the phone it was in person, and because we were both exhausted and knew we had forever for other things, we just fell asleep holding each other tightly after saying, I love you.
I don't think we have ever been on a date... we have sleepovers.
:)
One day soon those sleepovers are going to come to an end as when she was here at Easter I asked her, "So... when are we getting married?"
And when I did ask her she said, "of course".
Moral here is that you can get lucky if you hang around airports at midnight... :)

Such an amazing song! I, of course, sang the Vincente Fernandez version, as it's slower and shows off more vocal prowess.
I'd love to see that video!

The best dates end with a comdon getting flushed down the toilet.
If that didn't happen then it was only an OK date.

Best date was a midnight showing of The Shining about a year back. It was awesome to watch that movie on a big screen and the what happened afterward was the best part. :thumb:

Hmm, I never really had any "best dates". I guess the closet "best date" was when I went out with a girl and we got along very well. We went back to her aparment and she showed me photos of her trip to France, including a particular beach photo she forgot about. And she complained about her roommate (I suddenly felt like I regressed 15 years in my life).
Anyway, it was a sad date, too, because while we were getting along very well, and she is still to this day the most attractive woman I have been within a mile of, not to mention she was extremely intelligent, I knew I would never see her again. She was only 3 years younger than I was, but she was extremely immature for her age, just moved out of her parents' house, never had a job (always a student), parents bought her her expensive car, etc. We were in WAY too different of places in life.
Side note: my dates with my wife were all so-so. We were both so sick of dating that we were just dating because we had nothing else to do. Still got married for all the right reasons 5 months later, though... :p

I never needed chloroform, but then I'm not much for conversation.

Well I am dating 3 women right now, and it gets confusing, I have to keep a journal haha.
Went to coldstone with one of them last night and had a blast, but she is a talker! I didn't have to say much.
Actually it was my 2nd actual date with the Couch, we were all slicked up and looking most awesome as we went to my class reunion. It was lovely!
