Utility Cycling - My Big Dummy with 2010 Freeloader bags

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I just got my big dummy and I upgraded to the new Freeloader bags because I wanted to sell my FreeRad, but the bags were pretty chewed up.

I'm thinking I'll swap out the handlebars at some point, but the bike is a great ride as is.

I love it.

Nice! Our bags are getting a little worn out, but on the plus side, I don't have to worry about water pooling in the bottom :D. Will have to add the new ones to the (always-increasing) list.

I was toying with the idea of buying a new speed machine next spring, but I have become completely fascinated with the BD. The Dummy seems to reflect more of a bike lifestyle than a bike hobby.

The orange bags look great.

Here ya go:

This is the new understated logo:

The new bags look and feel just like a Timbuk2 bag:

They eliminated the mesh and added these. They are taller than the older bags:

A view from the rear:

Bag installation no longer requires removal of the racks:

They added a hole for water to run out of and apparently the pocket is waterproof:

How do you like the new bags over the old style? It looks like they did away with the small inside mesh pocket. I use that one alot for my tools and wallet.
