A Newbie Here,

I have a Diamondback Welded Carbon Fiber (WCF) 6.0 Frame mountain bike with mostly Shimano hubs (STX Paralax), cassette (HG70), and dérailleur(STX). It has some Avenir (gooseneck, seatpost) parts as well as a Sugino crank with a sealed bottom bracket. Also, I have a Rock Shox Quadra 21r fork on the front.

I purchased this bike a couple of years ago at a surplus sale to basically ride on and off road. I'm finding myself riding it more these days to work (combo of on and off road), but it is worn out. I can tell this was bike was purchased from as a whole rather than built from separate parts through some research.

Also, I found the Diamondback WCF frame was made around 1995 or 96 during the height of DB's manufacturing. The the condition of the bike is good. The paint on the frame is a little faded with some chips. It doesn't show any signs of cracks around the bottom bracket or around junctions of the bars and brackets. However, the gears and the shock seem to need attention.

I was wondering if the frame is worth the upgrades or it is time to just get another bike. I would like to hear your input. Thank you in advance!

Cheers,

Crap! I posted this to the wrong forum. Is there a way I can repost this to the proper forum?
