Hello, so i bought this thing on a fleamarket here in germany yesterday.
yeah, i know looks like knievels road bike but thats what caught my attention.. :-)
i have no experience in those kind of bikes, road or race or whatever you call them.
any information would be very helpful and appreciated, maybe the age, suggestions on what to work on with the bike, what to change, anything.
the rear wheel is broken so its not driveable (what would be a good replacement?) but everything else seems to be dirty but fine. (of course the tires need to be changed and some parts like the stand and such to be removed).
thanks a lot!

Although I'm only experienced with the low end bikes from the '70's (which this is definitely not), Flandria was a very well made marque. I immediately noticed the Shimano 105 headset. Does the crank and derailleurs match? If so, it's mid line, probably mid-80's. Nice bike, definitely worth doing something with.

It'll help a lot if you give a listing of the individual components, brand and model.

Wonder why Flandria made a very American themec bike? It does have an Evil Kneivil look to it. Nice bike, definitely worth som time and investment.

Just as a sidenote; In the Chicago area(very flat terrain) there is a cycling club called Flatlandia. They have jerseys that are reminiscent of the classic red and white Flandria bike racing team of the 60's-70's.

The american theme can very well hail from the fact that Roger de Vlaeminck from Flandres rode for the Brooklyn-name. The Brooklyn jerseys were of the same US theme.

There ya go.

And here is the jersey of the Flatlandia club. I may join just to get a jersey.
