Bicycle Mechanics - Front derailleur ( Sora compatible with Tiagra

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. My Tiagra front derailleur has given up on working. Will a Sora derailleur work with my Tiagra STI shifters?
This is the second Tiagra derailleur that has broken on me and I think I may as well buy cheap if they are just disposable components anyways.
Thanks
That seems unusual. Tiagra should be a bit better than Sora. How did it break?
Shifting problems are usually associated with the shifters, cable housings, or simply bad adjustments. Derailleurs are relatively more dependable.

There is a tab that a spring rests on that forces the derailleur to move when the tension on the cable is released. That tab broke off. The same thing happened to my last one, in all fairness that was about two years ago.

Hell I have a Sora double and a triple FD that I'll send you for shipping costs. PM sent.
I can assure you that they are about identical to the Tiagra ones though.
