I had been wanting to get something more suited for longer rides than my Trek 7000. I saw the Windsor Tourist (http://bikesdirect.com/products/windsor/tourist.htm) on Craigslist yesterday. I think I overpaid for it, but it was really lightly used and still half of what I could have gotten it for from bike's direct. I rode it to work today and it works like a dream. I have to tweak the fit a bit, but it was still comfortable.

After reading some reviews I need to take some time and re-tension the spokes.

Anyone else using this bike for commuting / touring?

I would consider the Windsor Tourist if I needed another bike. I have a frame that I picked up from somewhere that I want to build into a daily rider.

I was looking at that bike for a while. congrats! you're gonna love drop bars and the new speed! :-)
