Hello,
New rider from CT this summer. I joined a group that was to ride in a charity ride the Pan-Mass Challenge 192 miles in 2 days across Massachusetts to raise money for the Jimmy Fund. Well the ride was last weekend. While I finished ok I would have had a lot more fun if I had more than 200 miles in this summer with only one ride at 40 miles. Averaged about 17.5 mph but not without a good deal of pain. I joined the forums shortly before this race to look into bikes and training neither of which I did much. Road in the ride with a borrowed $250 bike with down tube shifters that really didn't work well. Looking forward to doing it next year on my own bike, much, much more prepared. -Drew

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
